Hello friends,
Well, we have survived a tropical storm with electricity off for so many in the area and some without power for almost a week with trees and broken limbs still waiting to be picked up.
The next major catastrophic event we all witnessed was an assassination attempt on a former president. Whether you are for or against Donald Trump, it was a sad day for Americans to see this happen.
Still, with all of this happening, the real estate market continues to be going strong. We are still short on inventory and many properties are still selling within the first few days with multiple bids. I don’t know when, or if, this will slow down, but it doesn’t appear to be any time soon. The high-end market is definitely leading the “charge” as interest rates are not as much of a concern and many, are able to pay cash. The Woodlands in particular has a lot of high-end cash sales and the areas close to downtown Houston are also experiencing these high-end cash sales.
My advice, when asked by a potential seller if they should put their house on the market sooner or later is to do it now while we are still having the demand for homes. And, if you do decide to buy or sell, you need an experienced agent who understands not only the market, but also all of the new rules pertaining to real estate today. Our business has changed, hopefully for the better with sellers and buyers being better informed as to their rights and the representation they receive from their agent.
At Corcoran Ferester, we keep up with the market and all of the changes in listing and sales contracts along with buyer’s representation agreements. We also have the knowledge to help sellers get the most for their homes and buyers find the best values. So, if you or anyone you know is looking for advice on the current status of the market, we can help. Don’t hesitate to call or email me, even if you are just curious and want to simply keep up with the current trends.
Regards,
Beth Ferester
